    Presented by Ali Starr of Tashi Deley and Allison Garner of Align Coaching

    Presentation Description:

    Humans are magnificent yet complicated creatures. How many times have you observed a group of great people wanting to do great work only to end up burned out, overwhelmed and resentful? It’s not the people. It’s the systems we created. Nobody sets out to do a bad job. Instead, we have systems in place that get in our way of being our best.

    According to Gallup, in the U.S., nearly 70% of all workers are disengaged. We know that when the culture supports our human-ness, we thrive. Case studies show that humanizing the workplace results in higher engagement, productivity, retention, and profits.

    Ali Starr of Tashi Deley and Allison Garner of Align Coaching will be presenting “Culture Eats HR Strategy for Lunch”. Ali and Allison work with leadership teams on creating cultures that are designed to ignite a deeper connection with ourselves and honor the greatness in each other. They turn many of our beliefs and assumptions upside down. During this 90 minute experience, let’s discover what’s in your way, explore, and challenge what we believe to be true.

    Speaker(s):

    Alison Starr started her own business to pursue a passion and a dream. The name of her business is Tashi Deley.  It is a Tibet greeting that means “I honor the greatness within you.” Prior to creating Tashi Deley she served as the Vice President of Culture Development at Verve, a Credit Union. She had the privilege of being able to positively influence Verve’s culture as shown through the latest Gallup engagement score, 34-1. This is 7 times greater than Gallup’s average.

    Prior to creating Tashi Deley and working at Verve, she was the principal at Lourdes Academy Elementary Schools in Oshkosh, Wisconsin while coaching their High School girls’ basketball team. Alison has also worked for the NBA, NCAA, and NBC.

    Alison strives to create a culture of servant leadership through developmental trainings, inspirational speaking and one-on-one coaching. Alison takes pride in serving those around her and inspiring others to do the same. Her leadership style is one of self-discovery, empowerment, candor, and unconditional love. She firmly believes that servant leadership is a journey not a destination.

    Allison Garner is a leadership coach and consultant, founder of Align Coaching, LLC, and author of “Think Possible: The Light and Dark Side of Never Running Out of Ideas”. Her clients are visionaries, challengers of the status quo, and never run out of ideas. They use their coaching and consulting work with her to deepen their mastery of leadership, develop leaders within their organizations, build high performing teams, and create cultures that humanize the workplace.

     Prior to establishing Align Coaching, Allison was a chemical engineering consultant and vice president of a small engineering firm. After nearly 20 years of consulting work which included both domestic and international clients in the mostly male-dominated oil industry, Allison realized her heart’s ambition to do more meaningful work in the world through coaching. On the personal side, she has been married for 20 years and has two wonderful kids. In addition, she has served on several Boards of Directors, including being elected to the Oshkosh School Board for 9 years and has served as its Treasurer, Vice President, and President.
