    Presentation Description:

    Strang, Patteson, Renning, Lewis & Lacy, s.c. attorneys Tony Renning and Chad Wade will make their annual presentation to the Oshkosh Area SHRM Chapter.  Tony and Chad will provide an overview of state and federal legal developments during the past year (2017) – To include a review of the most significant labor and employment law-related decisions (both from the courts and administrative agencies) as well as the impact thereof on human resource professionals.  Tony and Chad will also provide an overview of pending and contemplated labor and employment law-related legislation and guidance (state and federal) and anticipated decisions (both from the courts and administrative agencies) as well as the impact thereof on human resource professionals.  Finally, Tony and Chad will share their predictions as to emerging trends/hot topics involving labor and employment law-related issues.  The audience will be encouraged to ask questions throughout.

    Speaker(s):

    Tony Renning is a founding shareholder of Strang, Patteson, Renning, Lewis & Lacy, s.c. who concentrates his practice on labor and employment law as well as school/higher education law, litigation and counseling.  He provides advice and counsel to employers as to their rights and obligations under federal and state laws and regulations.  Tony advises clients on all aspects of labor and employment compliance, including wage and hour, labor relations, leaves of absence, discrimination, harassment, reductions in force, work force management, employment policies and handbooks as well as other labor and employment law-related matters.  His primary client base includes private and public sector employers of all sizes.

    Chad Wade is an associate attorney with Strang, Patteson, Renning, Lewis & Lacy, s.c. who concentrates his practice on working with school/higher education clients as well as private and public sector employers.  He provides counsel on a variety of labor and employment matters, including legal compliance and defense of employers under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) and employment discrimination laws. 

    He also has experience drafting and implementing a wide range of employment policies.  Prior to joining Strang, Patteson, Renning, Lewis & Lacy, s.c. Chad was employed by the City of Fond du Lac as the Assistant City Attorney/Human Resource Manager.
